Job Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams as a network architecture and cybersecurity engineer, both remotely and at operational sites.
- Execute complex network architecture and cybersecurity evaluations, product setups, integration testing, and resolve intricate issues.
- Develop comprehensive asset inventories that include software and firmware specifications to support cybersecurity evaluations.
- Deliver network and system specification documentation for various ongoing projects to address cybersecurity risks and outline necessary security controls.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as configuration guides, requirements traceability matrices, testing plans, procedures, reports, and user manuals.
- Engage in knowledge sharing with internal and external stakeholders, including the preparation of presentation materials and technical training sessions.
- Identify and contribute to the growth of new business opportunities, including input for project proposals and technical descriptions for new project bids.
- Interpret cybersecurity program policies and assist in the development of related procedures.
- Conduct system administration, network configuration, and manage virtual environments (Windows Server and client systems).
- Participate in strategic planning for control systems, focusing on security measures for the Ovation control system, including the application of centralized host-based security solutions.
- Implement network security measures such as firewalls, data diodes, security information and event management systems, and intrusion detection systems.
- Be prepared for travel up to 25% for system deployment and commissioning activities.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer), Computer Science, Information Sciences and Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Eligibility for 10 CFR 73.56 Trustworthy and Reliable clearance.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience (preferably 8-10 years) in engineering, administration, and cybersecurity for IT/OT environments.
- Proven experience in requirements management or conducting security audits and assessments.
- Familiarity with common PLC, SCADA, and DCS platforms (e.g., Emerson Ovation).
- Experience in industrial Operational Technology settings.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
- Knowledgeable in network design, Windows Domain configurations, security protocols, and group policy setups.
- Experience with security control frameworks such as NIST 800-53, 20 Critical Controls, ISO 27002, and NEI 08-09.
- High proficiency in troubleshooting system integration challenges and working with cybersecurity, network, and virtualization technologies to implement effective solutions.
- Experience in industrial environments or with industrial control systems is advantageous.
Certifications:
Preferred but not mandatory certifications from recognized organizations include:
- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or equivalent.
- GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA), ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or equivalent.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Cisco Security Certification (CCNP).
- ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Other relevant technical certifications from reputable vendors and certification bodies.
Skills & Expertise:
Proficient in commissioning testing, cybersecurity, detailed engineering, information system security, instrumentation controls, network security, and systems security.
