About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Service. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with intellectual disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with intellectual disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury.
  • Develop and implement care pathways and treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality assurance activities to ensure high standards of care.
  • Participate in service development and expansion, including the development of new care pathways and services.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance and risk management strategies.
Requirements
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • To hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post.
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other clinical teams and stakeholders.
