Highway Operations Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support the effective management of the Lincolnshire Highway Network in the western regions by overseeing, inspecting, and enforcing activities on the roadway.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative assistance to the Street Works team.
- Entering data into our information management systems.
- Aiding in the organization of highway projects under the Lincolnshire Permit Scheme.
- Conducting site inspections to ensure adherence to NRSWA regulations and the Permit Scheme.
- Engaging with internal engineering teams and external utility providers.
This is a full-time, entry-level role within the Street Works and Permitting Team of the Highways department, with comprehensive training provided to fulfill all responsibilities associated with the position. Lincolnshire County Council promotes a flexible hybrid working model, allowing you to balance personal and professional commitments effectively.
Your primary workplace will be at our designated offices, with team members typically meeting once a week, though this may vary. The rest of your work will be conducted in a hybrid manner, including time spent on-site.

Candidate ProfileIt is essential that candidates possess a BTEC or A levels or NRSWA Supervisors qualifications OR demonstrate a relevant level of knowledge and expertise suitable for this role. Individuals with pertinent experience, a strong work ethic, and effective interpersonal skills will also be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with other IT tools are crucial.
You should be capable of communicating effectively with stakeholders and fostering collaborative relationships to contribute to our collective vision of achieving more together.
Above all, a positive can-do attitude and a passion for ensuring the Lincolnshire Highways Network serves the needs of residents and road users are vital. Mobility across the county is required, thus a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are necessary for this position.
