Job Title: Peer Support Lead

We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to lead our peer support project, working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver awareness-raising workshops, hepatitis C testing, and support services in local prisons and community criminal justice settings.

As a Peer Support Lead, you will work in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services, and homeless service providers to ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and coordinate peers across Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan
  • Develop and deliver awareness-raising workshops and hepatitis C testing services
  • Work with clinical teams to ensure service users are referred and supported through treatment and care
  • Collaborate with drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers to increase hepatitis C awareness and access to testing
Requirements:

We are looking for someone with experience of working in drug services and with volunteers, who has been affected by hepatitis C or has supported someone with the condition.

You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, a good standard of education, and the ability to work creatively and innovatively.
