Key Responsibilities- Manage, develop, and engage a small team of 3 Multi Skilled Engineers to drive the effectiveness of the engineering team.
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently to maximise plant reliability, performance, product quality, and safety.
- Take the lead on more complex maintenance tasks, ensure required parts are available, and be responsible for a detailed handover to the next shift team.
- Lead the short interval control meetings with our production team to ensure plant is safe to operate and maintain and personnel conform to health and safety legislation, policies, and standards.
- Work within the framework of a Business-led engineering reliability strategy to achieve engineering KPIs.
- Effective use of SAP PM to maintain equipment in line with relevant food safety legislation.
- Support the recruitment, motivation, and development of an engineering team to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed in their role profiles and performance review meetings.
- Structured and practical engineering training (e.g., apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in an FMCG environment.
- H&S knowledge (e.g., PUWER, IOSH) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Basic PLC experience and fault-finding diagnostics (Allen Bradley) would be desirable.
- Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience.
- IT and PC knowledge to use widespread functions within relevant software (Inc. Office and SAP).
- Communicating skills to articulate and develop effective, long-term relationships with key people.
- Coaching and mentoring skills to take responsibility for the training and coaching of others.
- Analysing and problem-solving skills to anticipate problems before they occur and take steps to deal with them.
- Leadership skills to inspire others to perform, use a range of leadership styles, and deal effectively with performance issues.
