Job Title: Adult Community Learning Tutor

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Adult Community Learning Tutor to join our team at Bath College. As a key member of our ACL team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning courses for adults at various venues across Bath and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging and effective courses for adults, utilizing appropriate teaching methods and adhering to Ofsted standards.
  • Support and advise learners to help them progress through the course, providing clear personal objectives and developmental feedback.
  • Produce learning plans, materials, and activities that enhance the effectiveness of learning.
  • Embed contextualized personal development into all course planning and delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to quality processes within RARPA guidelines.
  • Induct learners into courses, ensuring clear communication on expectations, personal development, and safeguarding.
  • Provide pathways and identify CEIAG support for learners to facilitate their progression at the college.
  • Lead course planning and development, ensuring provision meets the needs of all learners and courses are completed on time.
  • Identify and procure resource requirements for courses, communicating with the ACL coordinator and administration team.
  • Awareness and reporting of students' individual needs, coordinating relevant support to meet their needs.
  • Provide pastoral support to learners, liaising with central support staff as necessary.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of courses through the application of the course review and evaluation process.
  • Act as a point of contact for communications to and from students.
Requirements:
  • Teaching Qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • At least a Level 3 in the area of specialism or study.
  • Equivalent of GCSE grade 4 (previously C grade) or above in English and Mathematics.
