The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to become a part of our dynamic Manufacturing Team within the Pharmacy department. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective preparation of pharmaceutical products.
Our Pharmacy department prides itself on providing a modern and supportive work environment, utilizing advanced technologies such as robotic dispensing and clinical pharmacy services to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
The Manufacturing Unit is responsible for producing aseptically prepared medications for our Haematology and Oncology Units, catering to the needs of our hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Support Worker, your primary duties will include:
- Preparing chemotherapy medications during the manufacturing process.
- Dispensing ready-made pharmaceutical products.
- Maintaining inventory for the manufacturing unit.
- Assisting the Dispensary Team in Cancer services and collaborating with other Pharmacy staff.
Candidates should possess strong written, numerical, and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer usage, as our operations are largely based on electronic systems.
While a Level 2 qualification in a Pharmacy course is preferred, we are open to hiring candidates at Band 2, with opportunities for advancement to Band 3 upon successful completion of the Level 2 Pharmacy Assistants in Manufacturing course and associated competencies.
The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in weekend and holiday rotations within the dispensary and stores.

Job Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Pharmacist in delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care and effective medicines management, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
Support the Principal Technician in the efficient operation of the manufacturing units, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice and regulatory guidelines.
Participate in the accurate dispensing and timely supply of medications.
