Production Coach

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the skills and understanding of our production teams by improving process performance and driving adherence to operating practices. This will involve standardizing the approach of all operators, closely monitoring performance, and ensuring that operating skills and development are aligned with plant and company strategies.

• Contribute to the delivery of plant safety systems
• Act as a coach and mentor to Control Room Operators (CROs) and other operations staff to optimize plant performance
• Provide an interface between CROs and the Optimization, Production, Maintenance, and Project Teams to ensure that the implications of any operating changes are fully understood by all parties
• Work in liaison with Production Management to set direction for CROs and ensure consistency in plant operation
• Review plant operational performance on a 24-hour basis to understand if all the correct actions have been taken by the CRO to maintain stability and control, report back to the Production and Process team on the findings, and create an action plan to resolve any issues
• Be responsible for collecting and reviewing data collected by shift teams on the CRO log sheets
• Own the development and management of the Plant's Standard Operating Procedures
• Responsible for developing and coordinating training programs for, and assessment of, Trainees, CROs, and be the custodian of training documentation and certificates
• Provide training sessions as required and be responsible for utilizing any new training tools
• Identify and plan ongoing CRO development using performance monitoring tools and provide support into the performance review process
• Responsible for the appropriate level of knowledge and awareness of the shift teams on quality procedures, as well as their observation across the shifts
• Contribute to plant cross-functional meetings with involvement in Production targets, collaborating and proposing ideas to achieve or improve them

• HNC or equivalent qualification would be highly beneficial
• Good appreciation of chemistry and physics of cement/chemical making process
• Training/Coaching certification or qualification would be highly beneficial
• Good understanding of Operational matters - safety, environment, quality, plant design, maintenance, and production KPIs
• A practical expert on Kiln and Milling operations
• Technical writing ability
• Ability to write and implement Standard Operating Procedures
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
• Detailed and thorough approach to performance monitoring
