Job Title: Site Manager - Underground Cable Installation

At Freedom Group, we're seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee all construction activity on underground cable installation and replacement work across our operations in the Essex area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site surveys, including pre-construction, during, and post-construction activities, to ensure accurate measurements and reporting to Project Managers.
  • Develop and implement effective plans for electrical and civils works, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Lead and motivate field staff to deliver high-quality work, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Proactively manage health and safety issues, collaborating with Project Management, Design, and Site Management teams to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and maintain awareness of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and minimize project delays.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create project programs that meet customer requirements, identifying creative solutions to resource and schedule challenges.
  • Proactively report resource concerns to avoid short-notice problems and inform Project Managers of any changes or variations that impact project timelines or budgets.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing sites and field-based staff on LV, HV, substation projects, and U/G works.
  • NRSWA certification.
  • IoSH - Managing Safety or SMSTS, SSSTS.
  • Company commercial vehicle.
