We have appointed a dedicated SAS advocate, Dr. Eve Randall, and are actively working towards being among the first Trusts to introduce the new Specialist Grade position. Our experienced SAS Tutor, Dr. Peter Niblock, along with a history of SAS doctors in prominent leadership roles, underscores our commitment to career development.
Main Responsibilities
As a Specialty Doctor at LYPFT, you will enjoy:
- A tailored Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training program
- Access to a study leave budget for CPD activities, conferences, workshops, and courses
- Participation in weekly educational meetings alongside Consultants and trainees, facilitating networking with Psychiatrists across the Trust
- Monthly clinical supervision with a Consultant Supervisor
- Support for MRCPsych exam preparation and Section 12 approval if necessary
- Membership in a peer group and the SAS committee
- Two protected Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) sessions each week
- Potential opportunities for emergency on-call work if desired
- Invitation to the annual Medical Leadership Day
- Opportunity to apply for leadership roles within the Trust
Revalidation and appraisal processes are well established, and all Specialty Doctors are expected to engage actively in the annual medical appraisal.

Qualifications
Essential:
- MBBS/MBChB or equivalent with GMC registration
- Recent clinical experience within the last year, including four years of full-time work as a doctor, with two years in psychiatry
