Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Director/COO to join our client's executive team. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen to drive business growth, operational efficiency, and strategic development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering within the energy sector, combined with significant experience in commercial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Drive business growth through strategic planning and market analysis.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to shape the company's vision and long-term strategy.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and effectively manage the teams.
- Effectively manage contractors and supply chain.
- Implement robust processes and systems to enhance productivity and operational performance.
Commercial Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects on time and within budget.
Financial Management:
- Oversee budget planning, financial forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Manage risks and opportunities to safeguard the company's financial health.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in a related field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering). An MBA or equivalent commercial qualification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy and engineering sector, with a significant portion in a senior commercial or operational role.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering projects and commercial operations.
- Strong understanding of the energy market, regulatory environment, and industry trends.
- Ability to travel extensively and manage multiple site operations.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficient in project management and operational optimisation.
- Technical skills in either wind energy products, electrical generation or adjacent areas.
