Job Title: Healthcare Assistant - Burns Ward

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Burns Unit team at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work as part of a skilled team to provide effective and safe patient-focused care. This will involve assisting with the daily running of the ward, providing high standards of care to patients, and contributing to the development of the care environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare bed spaces in preparation for receiving patients
  • Assist with the admission and discharge of patients
  • Support the registered practitioner in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care
  • Undertake a range of delegated clinical duties, including record keeping, patient observations, specimen handling, and wound care
  • Communicate with colleagues, patients, and their relatives/carers in a professional and compassionate manner
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with a good standard of secondary education and experience of team working. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, although orientation, training, and supervision will be provided.
