Job Title: Prison Education Tutor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prison Education Tutor to join our team at Dovetail and Slate. As a Prison Education Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to adult learners in a prison setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-entry level to level 2 Functional Skills classes to adult learners in a prison setting
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of learners
- Work with learners on a 1:1 basis to support their learning and provide additional support as needed
- Conduct outreach work to connect with learners in a professional manner and encourage them to return to a classroom setting
- Collaborate with the education department to ensure a smooth and effective delivery of education programs
Requirements:
- Good basic general education including GCSE (or) equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above
- A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work
- Experience in supporting learners reengaging into education
- Resilient and able to work in a challenging environment
- Teaching Qualification
