Recovery Support Specialist

Salary: £24,000 - £28,647 per annum
The Recovery Support Specialist role is an integral part of the Recovery Directorate, contributing to the Recovery Support Team's mission by leveraging all available resources.
This position is designed to assist individuals engaged in a recovery journey, particularly those facing complex challenges, to successfully reintegrate and flourish within their communities.
The role involves working in various facilities, with opportunities for remote engagements and travel to community projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a comprehensive and personalized Recovery Support Service, providing guidance and assistance to clients.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify client requirements and develop tailored support plans, including referrals to additional services.
- Ensure the safe delivery of holistic services aligned with individual and team objectives.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating events and reunions, whether for social, fundraising, or celebratory purposes.
- Support the team in executing Recovery Support services, including individual casework and group sessions.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create engaging content for newsletters, articles, blogs, and press releases.
- Promote the Forward Connect network and its offerings to clients and local agencies.
- Contribute to the design and editing of the client magazine, enhancing communication efforts.
- Research and support new initiatives within the organization.
- Establish connections with relevant agencies, including rehabilitation centers and housing providers.
- Facilitate meetings and contribute to team discussions, sharing insights appropriately.
- Maintain accurate databases in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system and recovery principles.
- Experience in assessing the needs of individuals in recovery.
- Background in substance misuse support or related fields.
- Proven ability to manage caseloads and conduct comprehensive assessments.
- Experience in delivering both individual and group interventions using motivational and trauma-informed approaches.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with multiple disadvantages.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Experience collaborating with treatment and healthcare services.
