Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, safety, cleanliness, and general maintenance of our school premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the buildings and school site are secure, particularly outside of working hours.
- Perform general porterage duties as needed.
- Undertake basic maintenance tasks including heating, lighting, plumbing, security systems, painting, and decorating to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Conduct regular and spot cleaning to maintain a suitable environment.
- Arrange facilities for hirers as specified.
- Manage the school minibuses, including refuelling and cleaning.
- Manage optional weekend lettings with additional remuneration.
- Store equipment, furniture, and materials securely to prevent unauthorized access and accidents.
- Adhere to health and safety requirements, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Assist in maintaining the school grounds to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Site Manager.
- Participate in training and performance development activities.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role involving maintenance and security.
- Basic knowledge of heating, lighting, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- A commitment to the school's ethos of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
