Position Overview

Are you dedicated to the protection of children?

We are seeking a skilled and passionate safeguarding professional to join our committed safeguarding team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safeguarding protocols and a desire to enhance their expertise. Applicants should have experience in health or social care settings and hold a relevant professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our established safeguarding service, you will collaborate closely with both adult and child safeguarding teams to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.

Your primary role will involve supporting the development and execution of safeguarding policies and procedures within the Trust. This includes engaging with partners and partnership boards, delivering training to Trust personnel and multi-agency groups, and providing guidance and support to the children's workforce, particularly in mental health services across the region.

You will work alongside safeguarding specialists and the Mental Capacity Act Lead to enhance knowledge and improve practices, ultimately leading to better outcomes for our patients and clients.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

The safeguarding service is a remarkable environment to work in. Our team of 21 provides specialized advice and operational support to staff across various directorates within Oxford Health. We collaborate with partners in multi-agency boards and partnerships, offering a varied and fulfilling work experience that positively impacts the lives of children and vulnerable adults.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant level of safeguarding experience and professional qualification.
  • Practical experience working with children, young people, vulnerable adults, and their families.
  • Experience in managing complex safeguarding cases.
  • A solid understanding of the frameworks and processes that support effective safeguarding.
