About The Venture Science Doctorate (VSD)
The VSD is a unique, fully accredited PhD program designed to cultivate a new breed of scientists who are equipped with both deep scientific expertise and the entrepreneurial skills necessary to translate their research into real-world solutions. This three-year program, run in collaboration with leading universities and research institutions worldwide, provides students with unparalleled access to state-of-the-art facilities, mentorship from renowned experts, and a dynamic ecosystem that fosters collaboration and innovation.
About the Role: Head of Philanthropic Partnerships
As the Head of Philanthropic Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding to support the growth and sustainability of the VSD program. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that targets philanthropic organizations, venture philanthropists, high-net-worth individuals, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Development & Execution: Spearhead the development of funding strategies and oversee all aspects of the fundraising process, from identifying potential funders to negotiating contracts and managing partnerships.
- Fundraising Assets & High-Visibility Opportunities: Leverage existing assets and tailor them to resonate with diverse stakeholders, maximizing the VSD's visibility and appeal. Actively pursue high-profile speaking engagements to elevate the program's profile.
- Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funders, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeding their satisfaction.
- Funding Sustainability: Continuously build and expand a robust pipeline of potential funders, driving year-on-year growth to exceed ambitious funding targets.
This role offers opportunities for mentorship and coaching, particularly in engaging with diverse senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will contribute to establishing the operational framework for the program and may transition to a part-time advisory role as the program matures.
