Lead the Way in Geography Education

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geography teacher to take on the role of Head of Department at our secondary school in Basingstoke. As a key member of our teaching team, you will be responsible for leading the Geography department, driving forward the curriculum, and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality education to our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Geography curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Lead and manage a team of Geography teachers to ensure effective teaching and learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Contribute to the development of the school's strategic plan, ensuring that Geography is a key area of focus
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary level
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practice in Geography education
