About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Strategist to join our team at Scott Bader. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability through strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Sourcing Strategies: Develop and implement global category strategies in line with the evolving strategic plans of the business, ensuring alignment of procurement/category strategies and objectives.
  • Lead Procurement Engagement with Key Stakeholders: Lead the local procurement engagement with key business stakeholders and associated processes to ensure alignment of procurement/category strategies and objectives.
  • Negotiate and Develop Supply Agreements: Negotiate and develop formal supply agreements for critical raw materials to deliver supply security at favourable commercial terms for existing and new supply chains.
  • Identify Supply-Side Risks and Saving Opportunities: Undertake spend and budget analysis and employ SRM/procurement tools to identify supply-side risks and saving opportunities, and agree action plans to enable implementation/delivery.
  • Lead Site Formal EHS/QA Supplier Assessments and Audits: Lead site formal EHS/QA supplier assessments and audits in accordance with the business's evolving needs.
Requirements
  • Strategic and Change Management Skills: Hold well-developed strategic and change management skills with experience of the utilisation of ERP systems, and specifically mainframe MRP & data analysis systems.
  • Procurement Experience: Be a well-rounded procurement professional with a real drive to deliver on strategic advancements, MCIPS would be a real plus.
  • Category Planning and Strategy Development: Have previous experience of defining, writing, and implementing category plans and strategies.
  • Chemical Manufacturing Experience: Have previous experience of working within a chemical manufacturing business, although this is not essential.
