Job Title: Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological therapy services to clients experiencing symptoms/difficulties consistent with PTSD or C-PTSD.

Main Duties:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the BTSS based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from various sources.
  • Formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client's PTSD and complex PTSD based on an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems.
  • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual's presentation.

Person Specification:

  • Holder of HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychology qualification and hold current HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
  • Training in evidence-based psychological therapy for PTSD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Received training on assessment/management of risk and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice.
  • Is computer literate.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of common mental health difficulties and social care needs.
