About the Role

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our Recruitment and Assessment team, who work with adoptive families to meet the needs of children and support the wider pool of children waiting for adoptive families.

The role involves all stages of the recruitment and assessment process, facilitating preparation and ongoing training for families, and being part of the wider team involved in finding families who can meet the needs of children with a plan of adoption.

About You

We are looking for a social worker with a good understanding of the potential issues faced by children who have suffered trauma and the qualities required by adoptive parents to meet those needs.

You should be a good communicator, a team player, and passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children.

About Us

Stockport Council is a Regional Adoption agency, delivering adoption services in Cheshire East, Manchester, Salford, Stockport, and Trafford local authorities.

We function in a hub and spoke model, with hub functions such as recruitment, marketing, performance management, panel management, and finance based in Wythenshawe.

Our Recruitment and Assessment workers are based together in spoke teams, with work largely allocated geographically.
