Android Software Engineering Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineering Lead to join our team at Lloyds Banking Group. As a key member of our Everyday Banking Platform, you will be responsible for leading the development of our mobile app features, working closely with solution architects, UI/UX designers, and product leads to deliver high-quality customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of mobile app features, utilizing Kotlin and Java, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Act as a technical authority, mentoring and coaching junior engineers, and representing the Digital Card & Ways to Pay Lab and the wider Everyday Banking Platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mobile app features that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies and best practices, influencing and innovating to achieve engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a Senior Android Engineer, with a passion for remaining hands-on technical.
  • Excellent programming skills, with a deep working knowledge of Kotlin and Java, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Diverse technical experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile customer experiences across variable screen sizes and Android versions.
  • Experience mentoring staff up to senior engineering level, with a focus on quality and best practices.
