About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Doctor to join our Community Learning Disability Team, providing specialist services for individuals with Learning Disability, Autism, and Mental Illness. The successful candidate will work with a cohort of patients at risk of hospital admission or placement breakdown, and those previously admitted and subject to S117 aftercare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical assessments of adults with Learning Disability, Autism, and Mental Illness, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide regular reviews and updates to patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring informed decision-making and optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, driving service improvement and excellence.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, sharing expertise and best practices with colleagues and students.
Requirements
  • Primary Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • Post-graduate psychiatric training and experience in Learning Disability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to assess and manage complex patient needs.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
