Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Technologist to join our Research and Development team. As a Packaging Technologist, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) packaging projects, working directly on our Innovation pipeline. You will conduct in-depth technical feasibility assessments on packaging design, including environmental impact, supply chain, manufacturing, cost drivers, potential IP issues, and consumer impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Packaging development and testing of NPD and Supply chain/Operations led packaging projects.
  • Conduct in-depth technical feasibility assessments on packaging design, including environmental impact, supply chain, manufacturing, cost drivers, potential IP issues, and consumer impact.
  • Be the voice on advocating good karma packaging and guide team members through the complexities of what goes into sourcing and making packaging recyclable and manufactured with recycled content.
  • Create packaging related specifications, finished product manuals, and manage data accuracy in Project Lifecycle Management software SAP.
  • Support the wider packaging community and R&D colleagues on sharing new technologies, product ideas, best practices, packaging knowledge, and learnings from attending conferences, factory visits, webinars, etc.

Requirements

  • BS in Packaging/Engineering/related field.
  • Experience with ISBM, EBM, and/or injection molding.
  • Experience of working with post-consumer recycled plastics and paper.
  • Proven understanding of packaging components, supplier processes, manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in liquid/powder fill manufacturing environments.
  • Fluency in English. Writing, reading, and speaking.
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in working with Amazon E-com testing and certification process.

Desirable Qualifications

  • An understanding of both mechanical and chemical recycling processes.
  • Experience of working with AutoCAD or Solidworks, SAP, Palletisation software.
  • Additional language as Dutch or German would be an asset.
