Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit Technician to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care by maintaining and sterilising medical instruments and equipment.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supplying and maintaining surgical instruments used in surgical and medical procedures
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, packaging, sterilising and delivering instruments and equipment to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries
  • Working in a production environment and as part of a team to achieve high-quality results
  • Reading small letters on instruments and following written instructions
