Job Description

Peters Dean Care Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all interactions.
  • Support young people in developing self-control and pro-social behavior, using positive reinforcement techniques and setting clear boundaries.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Care Manager to ensure the effective management of the home, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation of assessments and care plans, ensuring that each young person's needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, helping them to address past and present difficulties and achieve their goals.
  • Act as an advocate for young people, representing their interests and needs in meetings and discussions.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide written reports on young people's behavior and progress, as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings and supervision sessions, contributing to the development of the team and the home.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the line manager, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the company's values and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
  • Commitment to the company's values and objectives, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and support.
