Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Financial Controller to join our team in Norwich, UK. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and oversee budgets and financial forecasts to ensure accurate financial planning and decision-making.
    • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance with budgeted figures, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings, providing actionable insights to drive business growth.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to ensure stakeholders have access to reliable financial information.
    • Ensure compliance with local financial reporting requirements, maintaining the highest standards of financial governance.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance
    • Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets, ensuring the integrity of our financial operations.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, mitigating risk and maintaining a strong reputation.
    • Coordinate audits (internal and external) and implement audit recommendations, driving continuous improvement and financial excellence.
  • Operational Support
    • Provide financial expertise to support production control, analyzing production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the manufacturing process.
    • Collaborate with APU managers to develop solutions for scrap, rework, OEE, productivity, and efficiency, driving continuous improvement.
  • Supply Chain and Purchase Control
    • Evaluate the financial impact of supply chain decisions, such as sourcing materials from different suppliers or changing logistics partners, ensuring optimal financial outcomes.
  • Action

Work with the procurement team to negotiate better terms with suppliers and optimize the supply chain to reduce costs and improve reliability.

Cost Reduction Initiatives
  • Identify areas where costs can be reduced without compromising quality or production capabilities, driving cost savings and efficiency.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles, such as reducing waste, improving process efficiencies, and enhancing workforce productivity through targeted training programs.
Capex Control
  • Assess the financial viability of proposed capital projects, such as new equipment purchases or facility upgrades, ensuring optimal financial outcomes.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses, projecting the return on investment (ROI), and provide recommendations to management on whether to proceed with the investment.
Inventory Control
  • Ensure accurate inventory accounting and oversee physical inventory counts, maintaining the integrity of our financial operations.
  • Analyze inventory turnover rates and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, working with the supply chain team to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between the finance department and other departments to ensure financial considerations are integrated into daily operational decisions.
  • Facilitate regular financial review meetings with cross-functional teams to discuss financial performance and operational issues.
  • Support new product development, including cost estimation, price strategies, and profitability analysis.

Requirements

  • Honesty and integrity with respective manner.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of finance experience in manufacturing, with a strong understanding of financial planning and analysis.
  • ERP skills, including SAP FI/CO.
  • Strong Microsoft skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Chinese.
