About Hutcheon Mearns Ltd
Hutcheon Mearns Ltd is a leading energy services business that is transforming next-generation energy into operational reality through innovative solutions, strategic partnerships, and advanced problem-solving approaches.
As the company continues to expand, it seeks a Group Financial Controller to manage the finance function, whilst working closely with the Finance Director to achieve the ambition of the Group.
Main Job Function
The Group Financial Controller (GFC) is responsible for managing the Group finance team, as well as informing and supporting commercial and operational areas of the organisation as required. They will be an experienced finance professional who is strong in corporate reporting and Group consolidation activities. This position plays a critical role within the organisation, supporting the Finance Director to manage the day-to-day activities of the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
- Manage the month end and year end close processes to deliver accurate, timely financial information and financial statements, and advise on variances to budget for review by the Finance Director.
- Oversee the annual financial budget/forecasting process and analysis presented to the Finance Director.
- Manage the annual audit of the statutory companies.
- Act as a business partner with key stakeholders across the Group to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain effective treasury management practices, including cash flow forecasting for the Group.
- Oversee and improve all financial processes and controls, working closely with the Digital team for system improvements.
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
- Work closely with the external tax provider to ensure tax compliance and reporting in order.
- Oversee the outsourced payroll function.
- Continuously improve the performance and development of the Finance Team across all locations.
