Role Overview:

As an Arboriculture Consultant, you will join our 50-strong ecology team, which has over 20 years of experience in ecological and arboricultural surveys, assessments, and advice on masterplanning, mitigation, and enhancement design.

As part of our Environmental team, you will contribute to improving quality of life by applying your expertise in environmental management, technical, or sustainability expertise. Your work may involve protected species, pollution, surface water, and materials management, air quality, or noise in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys and provide associated reports to drive our core passion: to improve quality of life in a sustainable way.
  • Undertake BS Arboricultural surveys and produce associated reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIAs), and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMSs).
  • Conduct climbed surveys on occasion to inspect potential bat roosting features.
  • Provide general advice on Arboricultural issues.
  • Complete arb projects and provide Arboricultural advice to clients.

Requirements:

  • Applicants should hold a suitable qualification (e.g., FdSc Arb, BSc, or Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture or higher or closely related field) and membership of the Arboricultural Association or the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
  • Arboricultural knowledge, including BS Tree Quality Surveys and the preparation of Arboricultural Impact Assessments/Arboricultural Method Statements.
  • Previous experience of undertaking tree condition surveys, BS surveys, and reporting, with a proven track record in writing tree reports suitable for planning applications (appropriate to grade).
  • Understanding of health and safety-related issues regarding site survey and supervision.
  • Desired: LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector Certificate.
  • Desired: CS38: Accessing a Tree with Rope and Harness and Aerial Rescue.
  • Desired: Experience of database asset management software and tablet data collection.
  • Desired: Experience of assessing trees for their potential for roosting bats.
