Venn Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Team Leader to support the Mechanical trades operations and maintenance work across our client's sites in Buckinghamshire.
This role is responsible for deputising for the Mechanical Manager, supervising trade works, and assisting with the recruitment and selection of staff. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing report sheets, test certificates, and ensuring risk assessments are completed as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Mechanical Manager regarding line management of operational mechanical staff
- Supervise trade works applicable to mechanical disciplines, including ventilation, ductwork, extracts, heating, cooling/chiller, plumbing, and water
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff
- Manage the completion of all report sheets and test certificates as necessary
- Supervise works carried out in hazardous areas, taking all necessary safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury, and prevent damage to equipment
- Ensure risk assessments are completed as appropriate
- Follow detailed engineering drawings and specifications, interpreting detailed building services drawings and specifications to instruct others and advise
- Plan maintenance activities, including staff rotas and overtime works, allocating staff and physical resources
- Operate the Trust's labour control scheme, including completion of all paperwork required of the scheme
About the Role:
This is a temporary-permanent contract opportunity, and the successful candidate will be working closely with the Mechanical Manager to support the Mechanical trades operations and maintenance work across the sites.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of mechanical disciplines and a proven track record of managing teams and supervising trade works.
