Job Opportunity: Education Support Worker
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Support Worker to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs to access learning throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- To plan, deliver, and evidence individual learning programmes 1:1 or in small groups, including undertaking appropriate risk assessments.
- To maintain an awareness of safeguarding and make this a priority, reporting all concerns promptly.
- To implement strategies to support pupils with Special Educational Needs, building rapport and being a trusted adult.
- To provide specific and targeted support, depending on individual pupil needs, ensuring safety while supporting access to learning activities.
- To encourage the development of strategies for young people to manage behavior, anger, and frustration.
Requirements
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- An interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
- An ability to effectively and positively manage challenging behavior.
- Professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Good general standard of education (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT proficiency.
- You will be required to transport pupils, so you must be able to drive and have access to your own car.
