Job Title: Children's Home Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Home Manager to join our team at Connect2Kent. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in discharging their duties under the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Ofsted Regulations, and quality standards. You will lead a team of Residential Support Workers, acting as a corporate parent to our unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, to ensure their protection and care until they move to a more permanent home.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining the living environment to meet the requirements of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Ofsted officers and Independent Visitors to ensure cooperation with inspection processes.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring professional practice is monitored and delivered within service procedures, including responding to safeguarding concerns and following up actions as required.
  • Complete handover meetings with Residential Support Workers to ensure they understand tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained for every child, including Liberi records, and quality assure the work of Residential Support Workers.
  • Coordinate children's appointments and ensure Residential Support Workers complete records on the same day.
  • Complete Incident Reports and submit them to the Registered Manager for concerns regarding children's behavior, safety, or staff.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining availability of bedrooms for new arrivals.
  • Ensure Residential Support Workers complete checklists of children's belongings and rooms on arrival and departure.
  • Develop and implement a weekly activity planner to provide stimulating and meaningful learning activities for children.
  • Work flexible shift patterns to monitor, feedback, and ensure effective implementation of practice by the team.
  • Promote equality and anti-discriminatory behavior, encouraging all to express their wishes and feelings.
  • Complete regular formal supervision and practice development plans with Residential Support Workers.
Requirements:
  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent or NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development.
Pay and Benefits:

£17.07 per hour.
