We are seeking a highly organized and logistically-minded Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Floor Coordinator at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists in Hampshire. This fixed-term contract position will commence from October 2024 for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role at the end of the contract.

The Clinical Floor Coordinator will play a crucial role in the effective and efficient running of the clinical floor across all referral disciplines in the hospital. This includes Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedics & Soft Tissue Surgery.

Reporting to the Clinical Nursing Manager, the Clinical Floor Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the clinical floor runs smoothly by planning the day's referral procedures and leading the teams to complete their individual work flows as scheduled. Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with the referrals administrative team to facilitate acceptance of emergency and urgent referrals.
  • Managing the clinical schedule to reflect staffing levels and facility availability.
  • Monitoring and auditing efficiency across the hospital in processing cases, and implementing changes to optimize efficiency.

Relevant Experience and Personal Attributes
  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Previous experience in a Referral Hospital environment.
  • Commitment to prioritizing animal welfare.
Flexible Working Arrangements

This fixed-term contract role will begin from October 2024 for approximately 12 months. We can accommodate a full-time position working 40 hours over 4 days per week (Monday-Friday with a day off during the week) and no weekends or OOHs. We are also happy to accept part-time applications and will discuss flexible working requests at the telephone interview stage.
