Job Overview:
As a Mechanical/Pipefitter Improver at Nexus Careers Group Ltd, you will collaborate with skilled professionals to acquire hands-on experience in the installation and upkeep of piping systems.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the assembly, welding, and evaluation of pipes under the supervision of senior personnel.Role Objectives:
We are seeking a dedicated pipefitter to construct piping systems. You will interpret drawings and specifications, devise installation plans, and prepare pipes accordingly. Proficiency in utilizing pneumatic and hydraulic tools while adhering to safety protocols is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and comprehend Mechanical Layout Drawings based on Engineering Designs and fabricate from provided materials.
- Plan and execute tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate well with team members.
- Demonstrate initiative in your work.
- Adhere to Health & Safety Guidelines and utilize Personal Protective Equipment.
- Exhibit strong communication skills.
- Proficient in using trade-related power tools, such as drills and reciprocating saws.
- Experience in fabricating copper pipework up to 54mm using soldered and compression fittings.
- Familiarity with fabricating copper pipework using Pressfit systems is a plus.
- Experience in fabricating black and galvanized steel pipework up to 2" using screwed fittings.
- Knowledge of fabricating pipework using Swagelok systems up to 25mm is advantageous.
Experience and understanding of installing pipework for the following systems:
- Mains Cold Water
- Domestic Hot Water
- Compressed Air
- Chilled Water
- Steam & Condensate
- Compressed Gas (optional)
- Above Ground Drainage
- Experience in fabricating bracketry systems, including Unistrut supports.
- Proficient in hydraulic pressure testing.
- Able to lift weights up to 25Kg.
- Possession of a valid Driving License is required.
We prefer candidates with experience in both residential and industrial environments, and familiarity with various pipe materials such as copper, steel, and PVC.
