Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HGV1 Driver to join our team at Backline Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for collecting, delivering, and exchanging RO-RO bins between our clients and our operational sites.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collect and deliver RO-RO bins, traveling between our clients and our 3 operational sites.
  • Follow driving routes provided by our Transport Department.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects to the Transport Manager immediately.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Park all vehicles at the end of each day.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy cab of your lorry.
  • Stay in regular contact with the transport manager, yard managers, and weighbridge operators at each site.

Requirements:

  • Class 1 Driving Licence (minimum 2 years of experience).
  • Hold a Drivers CPC Licence.
  • RO-RO (Wagon & Drag) experience.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent phone manner.
  • Always look presentable as the role is customer-facing.
  • Fluent English is required.
