We are seeking a dedicated Factory Section Leader for a prominent manufacturing organization.

Mon - Thurs 06:00-14:00, Fri 06:00-11:00

Week 2
Mon - Thurs 14:00 - 22:00, Fri 11:00-16:00

Key Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity exists for a shift Team Leader to join the organization.

  • The Team Leader will report directly to the Shift Production Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel operating equipment or visiting the facility through ongoing monitoring of shift operations, reviewing practices, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Ensure that all mix operatives possess the necessary training and adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure that the internal customer (extrusion) receives the required service level (volume, quality, and timeliness).

Main Objectives of the Role:

  • Prioritize the safety of the Production Team and any visitors.
  • Plan mix production to meet customer demands safely and efficiently, minimizing waste and machine downtime.
  • Ensure all mix operatives work safely through comprehensive training and established practices.
  • Oversee effective and well-communicated shift handovers.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies among shift operatives.
  • Assist the Mix Production Manager in implementing new policies and procedures in the Mix area.
  • Conduct inductions for new and temporary staff.
  • Act as a substitute for the Mix Production Manager in their absence.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace organization and general housekeeping standards.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in direct first-line management of an operational team in a fast-paced, 24/5 environment.
  • Recognized Health & Safety qualification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Fire Marshal training.
  • Proficient in conducting Risk Assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound operational decisions.
