Job Overview

Position: Field HGV Mechanic / Installations Engineer
Location: Remote / Field Based (UK National)
We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic / Telematics Installation Engineer for a permanent role with a prominent company specializing in trailer axles and suspension systems. This position entails the installation and maintenance of telematics equipment throughout the UK, catering to trailer manufacturers, fleet operators, and end users.

Benefits: Company Vehicle, Performance Bonus, 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, Christmas shutdown, with an increase of one day per year up to a maximum of 25 days, and an enhanced company pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install advanced telematics systems on trailers, including Electronic Brake Performance Monitoring, Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Fridge Temperature Monitoring, and Door Sensors.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on existing telematics installations.
  • Commission, update, and oversee telematics units remotely.
  • Deliver on-site support to clients and service centers.
  • Complete job documentation and administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Travel to various locations across the UK as required.
  • Adapt working hours flexibly to meet project needs.
  • Support the Technical Services team as necessary.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Preferably trained as an HGV Mechanic or possess experience in Telematics Installation/Service Engineering.
  • Clean driving license is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - full-time permanent position with flexible hours.
