Design Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to oversee the entire lifecycle of new product development projects, from initial concept through to final production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plot project timelines in coordination with department heads.
  • Maintain all project documentation, including trackers, plans, and reports.
  • Organize team meetings and take notes, ensuring the team's weekly priority lists and actions are updated and shared.
  • Track project progress and provide regular feedback to department heads and senior management, communicating any project risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations to update senior management on project progress as required.
  • Update data within new product information sheets.
  • Log the NPD & Materials teams' project working hours.
  • Maintain a log of patent applications and IP clearance, keeping design protection records up to date.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience of project planning and project planning tools, managing physical products.
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge, particularly MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • The ability to multitask to a high level and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good research and report writing skills.
  • A background in manufacturing and/or design, or an interest in design/product development would be advantageous.
