We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Laing O'Rourke, a leading construction company. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value MEP projects and be part of a team delivering one of the biggest projects in the UK.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the delivery of mechanical packages, ensuring the handover and close-out of the safety file for final handover. This is a critical management role that requires strong leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the delivery of large-scale MEP projects with a value of £15m – 100m+
- Manage and oversee local implementation of engineering systems, documentation, and controls to comply with H&S legislation and company standards
- Select and manage innovative methods, use of materials, and safe systems of work
- Apply practical engineering principles and calculations to ensure project success
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and internal teams
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in managing large, highly regulated projects
- Nuclear or regulated environment experience is an advantage
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
