Job Summary

OCS is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design fire sprinkler systems, including hydraulic calculations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create fire sprinkler system designs for various projects.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create detailed installation designs, coordination, and as-fitted plans and layouts for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure designs comply with local, national, and international fire codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire sprinkler designs into overall construction and renovation projects.
  • Participate in site visits to understand project requirements and make necessary adjustments to design plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of design projects, revisions, and changes, ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in fire protection technology, and changes in relevant regulations through ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in fire sprinkler industry designing commercial sprinkler systems.
  • Hold relevant LPCB qualification, Basic Design in sprinkler system design is a minimum.
  • Expert in AutoCad use.
  • PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Preferred: LPCB FHC calculations, CDM Awareness, Full driving licence.
