We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at EQUANS. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of the commercial and financial elements of designated projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Control all expenditure and ensure compliance with contract terms
- Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts to ensure accurate financial management
- Assist the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming to ensure smooth project execution
- Manage and control sub-contract accounts and variation accounts to minimize financial risks
- Develop and implement effective cost control and monitoring systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Collaborate with the Contract Manager to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies
- Manage and control change management processes to minimize financial impacts
- Assist with subcontractor selection and procurement to ensure the best value for the company
- Monitor and report on project progress, valuations, and final accounts to ensure timely payment and compliance with contracts
- Process subcontractor requests for payment and ensure timely payment to minimize financial risks
- Prepare and submit monthly cost/valuation reports and cash flow forecasts to ensure accurate financial management
- Assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases to ensure the company's financial interests are protected
- Attend project and company-related meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor within a Social Housing environment
- Postgraduate experience within a surveying position reporting to either a Senior Surveyor or a Commercial Manager
- Experience of social housing, including responsive repairs, void refurbishments, compliancy services, and planned maintenance works
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
- Excellent level of numeracy and IT skills, including MS Office, Excel, Project, and Word
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Confident, self-motivated, and enthusiastic with a flexible and adaptable approach
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work both alone and as part of a team
