Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at Hammersmith & Fulham Council. As a dual badged officer, you will be responsible for undertaking relevant duties as a Law Enforcement Officer and Civil Enforcement Officer, working to prevent, tackle, or resolve crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour, nuisance, environmental issues, and traffic offences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake relevant duties as a dual badged Law Enforcement Officer and Civil Enforcement Officer, working to prevent, tackle, or resolve crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour, nuisance, environmental issues, and traffic offences.
  2. Conduct proactive patrol duties, focusing on enforcement and investigation activities across the borough, addressing issues of crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour, nuisance, environmental issues, and traffic offences.
  3. Investigate and respond to Members Enquires, service requests, complaints, and related taskings, working collaboratively with other agencies and partners.
  4. Work with the police, fire, and other statutory partners, council services, external partners, and enforcement agencies to prevent, tackle, or resolve crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour, nuisance, environmental issues, and traffic offences.
  5. Maximise patrol visibility to achieve outcomes as detailed within the relevant service plan and priorities, appraisal, taskings, or directions.
  6. Work outside normal office hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays, to meet service requirements.
  7. Exercise the use of a range of criminal enforcement powers, including Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and Civil Enforcement Officer powers.
  8. Maintain high standards of service delivery to residents, businesses, and others, delivering timely and professional responses, updates, and communications.
  9. Ensure adherence to HR and other policies and procedures, attending training, briefing sessions, individual and team meetings as required, and completing records in respect of hours of duty, leave, incidents, and sickness.
  10. Organise workload, time, and performance effectively, meeting service requirements and working collaboratively with managers and supervisors.
  11. Ensure accurate preparation of civil and criminal legal case files for legal proceedings, giving evidence in Court or other legal hearings as required.
  12. Undertake and successfully complete initial noise nuisance training, responding to noise nuisance calls in line with service requirements.
Requirements
  • Possession of current and valid Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) certificate is welcome. If not held, CSAS security checks will be undertaken during mobilisation, and the passing of CSAS will be required during the first six months of probation period.
  • Full current manual driving license (provisional driving licenses will not be accepted).
