Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Land Registrar to join our team and manage complex title matters for our clients' family-owned estates. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong background in property law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Land Registry Applications: Handle applications and disputes related to land registration, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research of property records to determine ownership history and legal status, utilizing mapping software and other tools as necessary.
  • Boundary and Licensing Matters: Resolve boundary disputes and manage licensing issues, working closely with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Adverse Possession Claims: Contest adverse possession claims, utilizing knowledge of property law and relevant case law.
  • Seigneurial Franchises and Droits: Manage these unique property rights, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Highways and Marine Property: Address title matters related to highways and marine properties, working closely with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Restrictive Covenants: Oversee the management of restrictive covenants, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Estate Ownership Assurance: Conduct perambulations and ensure the integrity of estate ownership records, utilizing mapping software and other tools as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Robust research and analytical skills: The ability to conduct in-depth research and analyze complex data.
  • Profound understanding of property law: A strong background in property law, including relevant laws and regulations.
  • Direct experience of working with legal and property records: Experience of working with legal and property records, including land registry applications and disputes.
  • Previous experience in conducting title research or related work in the property industry: Experience of conducting title research or related work in the property industry.
  • Direct experience of property disputes and their resolution: Experience of resolving property disputes, utilizing knowledge of property law and relevant case law.
  • Direct experience of dealings with HM Land Registry: Experience of dealing with HM Land Registry, including land registry applications and disputes.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills: The ability to communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders, and to resolve complex problems.
  • Familiarity with mapping software: Familiarity with mapping software, including tools such as GIS and CAD.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct: A high level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct, particularly when handling confidential or sensitive information.
