About the Role
Southern Water is seeking a skilled Process Operator to join our Wastewater Treatment Team in the Hampshire area. As a key member of our frontline operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the essential functions of our wastewater treatment works and wastewater pumping stations operate to maintain the supply to our customers and protect the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance testing and maintenance tasks, including unblocking pumps, screens, and valves to ensure continuous plant operation.
- Repair of alarm systems and monitoring, collating, and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential to respond to breakdowns.
- Site hygiene in line with our regulatory obligations.
Requirements
- GCSEs grade 3 including Maths, English, and Science.
- Valid UK Manual Driver's Licence.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Prepared to work within the company's rota of a 7-day working week and participate on a standby rota.
- Adaptable, flexible, patient, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Good time management and confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own.
- Keen to learn and operate complex processes with high-quality controls.
