Job Summary:
Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in a supportive and welcoming secondary school. As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream secondary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEN in a mainstream secondary school setting
- Work with students up to GCSE level in various departments
- Provide individual and small group support to students who require additional assistance
- Run small group literacy intervention classes and identify students who would benefit from further support
- Encourage and facilitate independent learning
- Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (minimum lower second)
- Desire to work with children and young people and support their learning
- Experience working with children aged 11-16 in a school environment
- Desire to work with students with SEN and understanding of the barriers they may face
- Ability to build and form working relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
