Join Our Team as a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is seeking an exceptional Specialty Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team in psychiatry. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to shape services and progress your career to Consultant level through our prestigious CESR programme.

About the Role

We are looking for a fully GMC registered and MBBS qualified doctor with experience in a mental health setting. You will be responsible for providing high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist, assessing referrals, and participating in weekly ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • Experienced within a mental health setting
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice
  • An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgment and ability to manage risk
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Preferably approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
Our CESR Programme

This programme will help you develop the skills you need to progress to Consultant level and rotate within wards/services to gain valuable experience across various subspecialties.
