Mencap's Inclusive Communities Team is dedicated to providing tailored employment initiatives for individuals with learning disabilities.

Program Focus

Our Employ Me Schools Initiative is a funded program designed to assist learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in navigating the employment landscape through engaging workshops and practical work experiences.

Position Details

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) where the successful candidate will:

  • Directly assist young individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and SEND within educational environments.
  • Facilitate employability workshops and coordinate work experience opportunities.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions to identify suitable participants for our program.
  • Engage with local businesses to create work experience placements.
Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with schools and employers to ensure the effective delivery of the Employ Me Schools Initiative.
  • Support the ongoing development of employability skills among young people.
Qualifications

All candidates invited for an interview must provide evidence of their GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
