The Opportunity: Head of Ship Delivery

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead the delivery of our Type 31/Inspiration class warships at our Rosyth facility. This is a pivotal role within our naval shipbuilding program, ensuring the successful construction, outfitting, testing, and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of ship delivery, encompassing outfitting, commissioning, testing, and customer acceptance.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of Ship Managers, Commissioning Managers, Quality Control Managers, and Completions Managers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and quality across the Type 31 program.
  • Collaborate effectively with functional groups to ensure seamless integration and delivery of all project requirements.
  • Implement robust project management controls, including cost control, earned value management, and planning & budgeting.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in complex ship build programs with a strong operations/production management focus.
  • In-depth understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical trade or engineering background.
