Role of a Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet the specified requirements, standards, and materials as agreed upon with clients.

Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments within the organization to ensure that products manufactured by
AVIC Cabin Systems (UK) Limited comply with the relevant design specifications and documentation, while also facilitating the release of conforming products with the appropriate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Approve products based on technical drawings and accompanying documentation.
  • Provide guidance and support regarding product compliance across the organization.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to optimize inspection resources.
  • Document non-conforming products in detail to assist Quality Assurance Engineers.
  • Conduct internal audits across departments.
  • Familiarize yourself with the First Article Inspection (FAI) process as per AS9102 standards.
This list is not exhaustive, and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake various tasks as directed by their line manager in alignment with the organization's overall goals.Performance Metrics

  • First pass yield and parts inspected
  • Compliance with AS9100 and AS9102 standards
  • Achievement of departmental KPIs
Knowledge, Education, and Skills

Knowledge:

  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers for product inspection.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection processes.
  • Experience in working with customer specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing and assembly.
  • Background in conducting internal audits.
  • Knowledge of regulatory documentation practices.
  • Good understanding of Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Awareness of the FAI process in accordance with AS9102.
  • Desirable knowledge of aerospace manufacturing quality systems.
Education

  • Experience in a Quality Control role.
Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the workplace.
