The company is a leading provider of insurance and risk management solutions to its members across various industries, including construction and maritime. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, the business has established itself as a trusted partner for its clients, offering comprehensive services such as claims handling, risk management, underwriting, and financial and regulatory support.
The Role
As a Construction Contracts Manager, you will play a vital role in reviewing appointment documents and negotiating amendments on behalf of the company's members. You will work closely with a team of experienced solicitors and legal executives to ensure that members' appointment documents are in line with their coverage parameters. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contractual documentation with clients, sub-contractors, and consultants relating to construction law, including collateral warranties, framework agreements, joint venture agreements, NEC, and FIDIC.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate appointment documents and related materials to ensure they are within coverage parameters.
- Negotiate amendments with members' clients and/or their advisers as required.
- Participate in meetings with members to explain coverage issues and deliver presentations on coverage-related topics.
- Review and negotiate contractual documentation with clients, sub-contractors, and consultants relating to construction law.
Requirements
- Experience in non-contentious construction law, gained from a law firm or an in-house legal team.
- Familiarity with professional indemnity matters concerning construction professionals.
- 1-8 PQE - UK Qualified.
